So, if you want to immigrate to Canada and settle in one of these provinces or territories, you can apply for this Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

Eligibility Criteria for PNP:

All the provinces and territories which are part of PNP have their own criteria for the selection of the candidates based on their Work experience, Skill set, Proficiency in English or French Language, Education level and some other requirement for that particular region. Each province follows same procedure for the selection and application.

Initially a skilled foreign worker applies for PNP for a particular province or territory where he or she wants to settle in Canada. As per the rules of that Province or territory and on the basis of occupation of the candidate, they have to show proficiency in English and / or French language.  To assess the level of your English or French language, you have to score in Canadian Government approved assessment test. For English Language proficiency you can prepare for IELTS and TEF for French language. If the candidate meets the selection criteria of the government of a particular province or territory and government officials feel that the candidate has real interest in settling in their province, that province will issue Provincial Nomination Certificate.

After getting the Provincial Nomination Certificate the candidate can apply for the Permanent residency to the National government of Canada. The candidates need to meet the selection criteria of Canadian government as well apart from the Province who has issued Provincial Nomination certificate before getting the permanent residency of Canada. You should prove that you are medically fit and clear the character criteria by providing the approved documentation. You should also show sufficient funds to take care of your expenses after moving to Canada and pay all the government fees for the PNP. After fulfilling all the requirements of PNP the candidate will be awarded Permanent residency of Canada and will be allowed to live and work in their selected province along with permitted family members. After residing for minimum of four years within a span of six years a permanent resident of Canada can apply for the citizenship of Canada.
